Abstract
The silver (Ag) nanostructures (NSs) have been synthesized using the ‘green, spray-assisted synthesis method’. In this study, the Bougainvillea leaf plant extract has been used to fabricate silver nanostructures. The green spray-assisted synthesis method is used to fabricate Ag nanostructures. The effects of different parts of the Bougainvillea leaf plant on the properties of Ag nanostructures were studied using several characterization techniques. The results show that Bougainvillea has significant potential as a stabilizing and reducing agent in the fabrication of Ag nanostructures and provides a sustainable alternative for nanostructure development. The XRD results show that the Ag NSs have crystallite characteristics formed, and crystallite sizes were in the range of (19.20-26.65) nm. The Ag NSs were shown to be spherical and nanofibers in FESEM images. Silver nanostructures for all parts have a direct band gap for a range of (2.72–2.98) eV, as indicated by the UV-vis spectroscopy peaks that were visible between 415 nm and 455 nm. The FTIR results revealed that Ag NSs might be stabilized by (C-N) stretching, (N-H) bending, (C-Cl) stretching, and (O-H) stretching. The outcomes for energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), chemical states, hole-electron recombination, Ag purity, trend, and the produced silver Nanostructures were verified. Remarkably, the results of this investigation suggest that Ag NSs fabricated from aqueous extract of Bougainvillea have promise for cleaning up environmental contamination. In this regard, the study notes that the production of Ag NSs using bougainvillea can efficiently and economically help sustainably manage ecological pollution.
